Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), ends her visit to the DRC on Thursday, December 9.
Arrival in Kinshasa on Tuesday, she was received by Félix Tshisekedi on Wednesday.
The two personalities discussed the evaluation of the three-year program concluded between the DRC and the IMF, the global, African and Congolese economic prospects.
The IMF director was particularly satisfied with the progress of this program.

At the end of her meeting with the Congolese president, Kristalina Georgieva was optimistic about the economic prospects of the DRC.
While the projection of the world economy is around 4.9% next year, that of sub-Saharan Africa at 3.9%, the DRC has a projected growth of 6.4% for 2022. .
The IMF director explains: “
Why is the DRC in a better situation than many other African countries?
It is benefiting from the improvement in the prices of raw materials.
Above all, there is the implementation of the reforms that the president and his government underway
”.

These reforms are also manifested, she said, in increased revenue mobilization and improved public spending.
Apart from the various disbursements linked to the program concluded last July, Kristalina Georgieva announced the possibility of further support to the DRC.

We are still in the process of mobilizing $ 100 billion from countries with a stronger position to support countries with more need.
Discussions are underway so that the DRC is among the beneficiary countries
”.
To support growth, the IMF director insisted to the Congolese authorities on the improvement of the business climate, the importance of digitization and the improvement of infrastructure.
