The French president makes $1.2 million in 5 years at the Elysee

French President Emmanuel Macron made a profit of just over 1.07 million euros ($1.2 million) during his nearly five years in office, a news report said.

This money came mainly from the president's salary, which is equivalent to about half of the $400,000 the president receives in America annually, according to Bloomberg News.

In addition to an annual salary of $196,000 that Macron receives from the state, the French president made a profit of about 6,000 euros annually during most of these years, in addition to the proceeds from the sale of his book “Revolution,” which ranged between zero in 2020 and 141,000 euros in 2018.

The agency indicated that Macron has several savings accounts, but he does not own real estate or cars, according to what the Official Gazette in France reported.

French presidents must publish details of their financial gains over the course of their terms, during their final months in office.
