A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for one year and nine months for stabbing a man in a village outside Boden on Walpurgis Night this year, writes Norrbottens-Kuriren.

The quarrel began with the 22-year-old's friend being called a jerk and accused of having a so-called Gällivare pendant on his trousers.

The 22-year-old then fetched a Mora knife and attacked the person who mocked his friend, a person unknown to him.

Convicted of aggravated assault

The prosecutor states that it was "a life-threatening violence with a life-threatening weapon" and the 22-year-old is convicted of aggravated assault.

In addition to the prison sentence, he must pay damages to the victim of SEK 33,100.

The court finds it aggravating that the convict did not know the victim.

He himself claims that it was a threatening situation but that he has bad memories of the incident.
