"President Biden expressed deep concern of the United States and European allies about Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine," the White House said in a statement.
Biden and Zelenskiy called on Russia to "de-escalate tensions."
According to the American leader, the United States is ready to respond to the situation with Ukraine with "solid economic and other measures."
He noted that he intends to follow the path of diplomacy in the Ukrainian issue.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Joe Biden that there were no plans to attack anyone.
