In recent months, SVT has met several honor-controlled girls who live hidden from their violent relatives.
They have grown up with control, abuse and constant guilt.
Many of those we meet describe the school as a refuge.

- With my father and that family, education is not considered something a woman should take part in, says Aisha.
Girls who have taken help from the authorities and been deprived of school therefore often describe how they feel let down - school would be their way out.
