In the Houthis' first comment, the group's military spokesman said, "We carried out a broad and qualitative offensive operation in the Saudi depth."

And earlier on Monday, the Houthis held military funerals for the funerals of the bodies of 25 fighters who died in battles with the coalition in Marib, while the coalition warplanes intensified their bombing of Sanaa, Marib and other areas.

Houthi media showed footage of fighters during an exchange of heavy artillery fire with the coalition forces in Ma'rib on Sunday, while warplanes hovered over the area.

Houthi officials said that the 25 fighters buried in Sanaa were all killed in the Ma'rib battles.

For its part, the Yemeni government forces published footage of violent battles they are waging against the Houthis on the fronts south of Marib and east of the city of Al Hazm in Al Jawf Governorate, north of Sanaa.

The video footage showed clashes with heavy and medium weapons between the two sides, in conjunction with air strikes by the Saudi coalition on Houthi sites.

tribal meeting

Meanwhile, more than 40 Yemeni tribal leaders called for a halt to the fighting, during a two-day Yemeni tribal gathering in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to discuss ways to bring peace to Yemen.

In a statement, the tribal leaders stressed the need to reopen all humanitarian roads and corridors in accordance with controls that guarantee the flow of goods, facilitate the movement of Yemenis, respect the sanctity of the road and protect the Yemeni person.

They called on the parties to the conflict to release all detainees and prisoners, and urged all Yemenis to activate the customary rules as the guarantor of the relationship between Yemenis among them, including respecting residential places and displacement camps and stopping targeting them.

They renewed their call on all parties to immediately engage with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and the peace mediators to Yemen, to present their visions for a solution, and to abide by the Riyadh and Stockholm agreements to stop the bloodshed among Yemenis.

The Riyadh Agreement was signed between the legitimate government and the Southern Transitional Council in 2019, while the Stockholm Agreement was signed between the government and the Houthi group in 2018.

Tribal leaders also stressed the need to end the financial division in various regions to relieve the suffering of the Yemeni citizen, supply all financial resources to the Central Bank and spend them in favor of meeting basic services in all regions of Yemen, and paying the salaries of state employees.
