After the SPD and FDP, the Greens also voted with a large majority in favor of the coalition agreement.

In a digital ballot of the party members, 86 percent voted in favor, as the political director Michael Kellner announced on Monday in Berlin.

125,000 members were called to vote on the coalition agreement.

The turnout was 57 percent.

Waiter was satisfied with this value.

He pointed out that this roughly corresponds to participation in previous strike votes.

Kellner described the result as a "very, very solid foundation" for future government work.

The coalition agreement is to be signed on Tuesday, on Wednesday Olaf Scholz could then be elected Chancellor and the new cabinet of the Ampel coalition sworn in.
