A hiker in her fifties, injured in the ankle, was hoisted by the Dragon 34, the helicopter of the Civil Security of Hérault, Sunday afternoon.

It was recovered by the emergency services in the Gardon gorges, near Collias (Gard), at a place inaccessible by an ambulance.

It was the victim's husband who alerted the emergency services: the 50-year-old was able to be geolocated precisely thanks to the GPS coordinates of their mobile phone, indicate the Gard firefighters.

Rescue was supported by the Grimp, the reconnaissance and intervention group in perilous environments.

The victim was dropped off in a place where the ambulance was able to take her in, before being evacuated by her companion to the hospital, where she was treated.
