His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, stressed the importance of the main and influential role played by the private sector in supporting the comprehensive development process in the country and Dubai, based on the partnership relationship that has strengthened between the two sectors The government and the private sector over the past five decades, as the latter provided a role model in absorbing the size of the responsibility entrusted to him towards the country, and keenness to fulfill his obligations to the fullest, to contribute to reaching the UAE to higher ranks of excellence in various fields.

His Highness praised the great hopes that the state holds for the private sector in preparing for the next 50 years, while providing all the ingredients supporting the success of its role, and enabling it to carry out its responsibilities optimally, saying: “The exemplary and thriving partnership between the government and the private sector enhances our ability to achieve more Qualitative successes in all fields... and the integration of their roles is an essential pillar for a new phase of economic and societal development.”

His Highness praised the role of the private sector in the field of Emiratisation, and allowing national competencies to participate in various fields of work, stressing the importance of its contribution to qualifying Emirati cadres and providing them with the elements of excellence, in order to expand their participation in the labor market, raise the competitive efficiency of national cadres, and enable them to occupy Various jobs in private sector institutions.

This came during His Highness’ meeting with about 300 Emirati cadres, who were recently employed by Majid Al Futtaim, as part of the “Nafis” program, the federal government program to raise the competitiveness of national cadres, during a ceremony organized by the company at the headquarters of “Expo 2020 Dubai” to welcome the employees. The new event, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the UAE National Competitiveness Council, Ghannam Al Mazrouei, and the CEO of Majid Al Futtaim, Alain Bejjani.

His Highness called on the new employees to set an example in emphasizing the value of the participation of the national cadre, and its ability to add clear positive imprints, each in his field of work, and to always be exemplary models in professional commitment and excellence, and the constant pursuit of excellence and positive participation in creative ideas that support the development of work and raise the level of its efficiency.

The UAE government launched the “Nafis” program last September, as part of the second package of the “50 projects”, with the aim of building a pool of qualified national expertise and cadres to join the private sector institutions in the UAE in various vital fields, encouraging a culture of innovation, self-employment and entrepreneurship, and enabling The private sector as the main driver of the national economy.

Majid Al Futtaim announced its commitment to appoint 3,000 Emirati cadres over the next five years, and organized a number of events, which resulted in the employment of about 300 Emirati men and women.
