According to the Mexican Ministry of Communications and Transportation, a serious traffic accident occurred on Highway 57 in the northern state of Coahuila at around 13:00 local time on December 5th.
The brakes of a container truck failed and lost control. It hit at least 18 vehicles in a row, causing at least 5 deaths and 15 injuries.
The injured have been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At present, the scene of the accident has not been cleaned up, and the two-way lanes on the road section of the incident are still closed.
