December 05, 2021CNN fired one of its most prominent faces, Prime Time Talk host Chris Cuomo, with immediate effect, and relied on a law firm to ascertain his involvement in defending his brother Andrew from allegations of molesting, when he was governor of New York, about ten employees. For this reason Chris Cuomo was suspended from CNN a few days ago.

The resolution comes after documents emerged that would show how Cuomo was committed to defending his political brother with advice, but more importantly, he would use his contacts to gather information on women accusing his brother. "The documents, which we were unaware of prior to their public release, raise serious questions," a CNN spokesperson said, adding that "they indicate a greater level of involvement in your brother's efforts than we previously knew."

Cuomo said he was disappointed: "This is not how I wanted my time at CNN to end, but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother".

So the anchor writes in a note after his dismissal.

The journalist said he was "proud" of the team on his program, one of the broadcaster's most popular: "I owe them everything and I will miss that group of special people who have done a really important job".

Cuomo talked about his connection with his older brother.

"He's my brother and if I can help him, I do," he told detectives in July.

Democrat Andrew Cuomo was elected governor three times before stepping down in August after an investigation found he had sexually assaulted at least 11 women.

This is how the saga of a powerful Italian-American dynasty seems to end, which began with the several times governor of New York Mario Cuomo and continued with his two sons: Andrew, who had followed in his father's footsteps, and Chris, a lawyer and journalist, now fired. from CNN after having long been one of its best-known faces.
