04 December 2021 An explosive attack against Recep Tayyip Erdogan was foiled in Turkey. It was Turkish intelligence who discovered the explosive charge under a car of the Turkish president's escort. The incident happened in the city of Siirt, in the South East of the country, where Erdogan was busy for a rally. The Turkish media reported it.



The bomb was reportedly placed under one of the police cars accompanying the presidential escort and was discovered and defused by bomb squads just before the motorcade left with the Turkish leader.



The bomb squad immediately intervened on the spot, before the scientific police intervened to collect the fingerprints and other elements that could lead to the identity of the attackers.



Foiled attack on Erdogan, AKP: "They wanted chaos"


The first comment of the AKP party in government in Turkey was: "They wanted to bring chaos".

The deputy secretary of Erdogan's AKP party, Hamza Dag, commented on the episode by declaring to CNN Turk that it was "an attempt at sabotage", designed to "strike a peaceful environment and bring chaos to the country".
