Regarding the spread of the Individual Number Card, Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Kaneko expressed his intention to increase the number of cardholders to 95 million, which is about 75% of the population, through a new system that grants points worth up to 20,000 yen.

The government has included in the supplementary budget for this year, which is submitted to the extraordinary Diet session, the cost of creating a new system that will give points for up to 20,000 yen to the holders of My Number Card.

Regarding this, Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Kaneko told reporters in Iwamizawa City, Hokkaido, "Aiming to distribute the card to almost all the people at the end of the 4th year of Reiwa, we have added a point budget for 95 million people to the supplementary budget. We would like to cooperate with ministries and agencies to promote the spread of cards. "

Currently, there are more than 50 million card holders, which is about 40% of the population, but Minister Kaneko wants to increase the number to 95 million, which is about 75% of the population, through the new system.

The new system will be given up to 5,000 yen if you get a card, 7,500 yen if you register as a health insurance card, and 7,500 yen if you register a "public money receiving account" to receive benefits from the country. Therefore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications wants to start the system as soon as possible after the supplementary budget is approved.
