Zhejiang is China's key province of overseas Chinese, with 2.05 million overseas Chinese distributed in more than 180 countries and regions in the world.

From going abroad to get rich to returning to their hometown to develop, the overseas Chinese have turned into a "single fire", getting rich first and then getting rich, creating a better life.

"Nuggets" era: starting from scratch to create a business

With China's reform and opening up, Zhejiang people who dare to be the first to take the lead in the development opportunities of the "Nuggets" era.

Ye Zuchi recalled: "After reform and opening up, I started to run supply and marketing and sell Qingtian granite all over the country."

In the early 1980s, traffic conditions were backward.

Ye Zuchi was impressed by the bumpy bus ride from Qingtian to Jinhua in the early morning, and then the train to Hangzhou, the provincial capital, at night. “I feel very satisfied with a Jinyun sesame cake on the way.”

"Now the high-speed rail from Qingtian to Hangzhou only takes 2 hours." Ye Zuchi said, only from the slow crowded green train to the shining global high-speed rail business card, we can see the rapid development of China's economy.

Like many Zhejiang merchants, with a vigorous mind, hard work can get rich. Ye Zuchi earned the "first pot of gold in life" by running supply and marketing.

In 1981, the Ye family became the first batch of "ten thousand yuan households" in Qingtian County.

Grasping the opportunity of the times is one of the secrets of Zhejiang people making a fortune.

In the wave of going abroad in the early 1990s, Ye Zuchi resolutely went to Romania to engage in international trade. After that, Ye Yangjun joined them. The Ye family and his sons purchased goods from China and sold them to the European market. The business grew bigger and bigger, let them stop in Romania. Stabilize your heels.

Taking the lead in solving food and clothing, taking the lead in seizing market opportunities to become a "ten-thousand-million household", taking the lead in the "Nuggets" dividend of global integration... Ye family’s well-to-do home "growth" is also a struggle for many ordinary families in China Target.

"Struggle" is not over: enjoy happiness on the road to dream

"One home in Qingtian, one home in Romania." For Ye's family, the distance between the two homes was only "separated" by one ticket.

Ye Yangjun, 46-year-old president of the Romanian Qingtian Association, went to Romania with his family in 1993.

After he first arrived in Romania, he discovered that there were business opportunities in setting up a store there, but he suffered from insufficient supply.

In 1994, the Ye family and his son used their contacts in China to find sources of goods.

"We purchase shirts and socks from Yiwu, Zhejiang, and purchase shoes from Wenling and Ruian, and ship them to Romania, and then sell them to the European market. We have been engaged in international trade for more than 10 years, so that our wealth continues to grow."

Ye Yangjun revealed that with years of accumulation, his family has "a place" in the Red Dragon Market, the largest distribution center for Chinese goods in Romania.

Since then, the wealth of the Ye family has gradually accumulated and grown.

Shared development is the simple wish of the Chinese.

In 2008, the Ye family and his son started to build a real estate project with 16 villas and 2 buildings in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, so that overseas Chinese in Romania could own a home.

On the road of struggle, think about change and move forward.

In 2019, Ye Yangjun “cross-boundary” started his business again and opened a Chinese restaurant in Bucharest.

He said: "The key to opening a restaurant is to make money, but the key is to let the overseas Chinese not forget the taste of their hometown abroad."

"Prosperity Together" Going Together: The Dream of Common Prosperity Brought into Reality

In 2021, Zhejiang, the hometown of Ye Zuchi, will embark on a new journey of high-quality development and construction of a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

This inspired Ye Zuchi and many of the overseas Chinese in Zhejiang.

"Back then, we went abroad to seek prosperity. Today, it is incumbent on us to promote common prosperity." Ye Zuchi said, "The overseas Chinese have a broad vision and rich resources. They can play a role as a bridge connecting the two markets at home and abroad, using overseas Chinese as a bridge to promote common prosperity. rich."

In fact, whether it is the urgent need of hospitalization for the overseas Chinese living in Romania, or the urgent need for relief in a temporary financial distress, or the difficulty of going to school or seeing a doctor due to financial difficulties, Ye Zuchi always does not hesitate to lend a helping hand.

After major emergencies such as SARS and the Wenchuan earthquake, he took the lead in donating money to help the motherland.

After taking over the baton from his parents, Ye Yangjun also actively responded this year to the "Hundred Overseas Chinese" in Lishui·Qingtian Overseas Chinese Community to pair up with the "Hundred (thousand) poor students" event, hoping to contribute his own strength.

He said: "My father is the charity star of Qingtian County, and he is a good example in my mind. I am also happy to help more people."

As more and more overseas Chinese are striving to be the "front-runners" in promoting common prosperity, as the return of overseas Chinese has become increasingly prominent, government departments at the two levels of Lishui City and Qingtian County have respectively introduced new policies for Huiqiao to accelerate the return of overseas Chinese elements.

The Zhejiang overseas Chinese community this year promoted the Zhejiang overseas Chinese groups, overseas Chinese enterprises, and overseas Chinese in the proposal to help promote the "Building a Demonstration Zone of Common Prosperity": the wise should do their best, the brave should contribute, and the benevolent should spread their benefits to build a common prosperity demonstration zone.

From "one family gets rich" to "all families get rich together", Zhejiang, the most balanced area in China's urban and rural areas, is ushering in a new development trend that promotes common prosperity and "people gather firewood and flames are high".
