Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos and the year of China-Laos friendship.
Over the past 60 years, the key to the fact that China-Laos relations have withstood the test of the vicissitudes of the international situation, has become stronger and newer over time, is that the two sides adhere to common ideals, trust each other, help each other, and share a common destiny.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Laos adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party and the direction of socialism, which is an essential feature of the relationship between the two countries.
Faced with the complex and severe external environment and their respective domestic arduous tasks of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, China and Laos must stand on the political and strategic heights of maintaining the common cause of socialism, and push the relationship between the two parties and the two countries to a new level. Both sides should jointly safeguard the political and institutional security of China and Laos.

The China-Laos Railway is opened to traffic today, and Laos’s dream of becoming a "Land Union" will soon become a reality.
We must not only achieve “hard connectivity”, but also “soft connectivity”, do a good job in follow-up railway operation and maintenance and safety guarantees, and create a high-quality, sustainable, and livelihood economic belt along the route.
It is necessary to promote cooperation in new infrastructure projects, improve the level of energy interconnection between China and Laos, and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, economic development zones, and finance.
