On the evening of December 3, 2021, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi further elaborated on China's position on the so-called "democracy summit" planned by the United States during a telephone conversation with Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi.

Wang Yi said that the purpose of the United States is not democracy, but hegemony.

It is to maintain its dominance in the world under the guise of democracy.

It is under the banner of democracy to take the opportunity to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

It is abusing the value of democracy to create divisions in the world.

On the issue of democracy, the United States has its own problems. If it still claims to be a defender of democracy, it is a typical moral integrity.

Many countries believe that the United States is no longer qualified to set test questions and standards for other countries, nor does it have the right to require other countries to emulate American democracy.

Wang Yi emphasized that if democracy is to be discussed, discussions should be conducted on an equal footing in the spirit of mutual respect on the platform of the United Nations.

The international community may wish to make two tests.

The first is to test whether countries believe that the United States is a role model for democracy in the world. I think the results will be embarrassing.

The second is to measure the satisfaction of the people of various countries with their governments. I think the result will prevent some countries from coming to Taiwan.

Wang Yi said that China has full confidence in its own democratic path and democratic process.

Socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is a people's democracy in the whole process, which is widely supported and supported by the Chinese people.

We are willing to conduct full exchanges with other countries on democracy and human rights issues in an open and tolerant attitude.

We all learn from each other's strengths, improve together, and promote global democracy and human rights.

We are also willing to work with all parties to safeguard fairness and justice, resist the war mentality, defend and develop true democracy, and earnestly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries.
