"The introduction of economic sanctions is one of the options," Psaki told TASS at the briefing.

She noted that the introduction of sanctions is possible through consultations with the European allies.

Psaki clarified that "these consultations have been going on for some time."

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the statement by US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland about the readiness to introduce new anti-Russian sanctions, called it a dead end.

Assistant to the President of Russia Yuri Ushakov, commenting on Kiev's statements about the alleged possibility of escalation from Russia, said that the Russian side has the right to move troops on its territory and "there is no talk of any kind of escalation."
