- We received a message from the police and rescuers that there were a number of electric cars that had to be towed away as they could not drive from there even though the road was clear, says the Swedish Transport Administration's press manager Bengt Olsson.

The problems with the electric cars' cooling resistance were clearly noticeable in the snowstorm, as many new electric cars have been added to the roads compared with before.

"There must be some kind of solution"

- With the cars that are powered solely by electricity, the manufacturer needs to think about how to meet the times when the battery, which the car needs to drive, discharges.

There must be some type of solution that corresponds to having a can of petrol or diesel with you, says the Swedish Transport Administration's press manager Bengt Olsson.

Fredrik Sandberg, editor of the magazine Elbilen, says that it is mainly about the drivers not being used to the fact that it requires more planning and margin if you drive an electric car during the cold winter.

- 40 percent of those who drive electric cars today have not driven in the winter before, he says.

What do you need to think about if you are to survive the winter with an electric car?
