The quaestor of the National Assembly, Eric Ciotti, obtains 25.59% of the votes and is ahead of Valérie Pécresse, 25% of the votes.

Both are qualified for the second round which starts on Friday 8 am.

Xavier Bertrand finished in fourth place with 22.36% of the votes of LR members.

Eric Ciotti and Valérie Pécresse qualified for the second round of the LR congress responsible for investing the right-wing presidential candidate, party president Christian Jacob announced on Thursday.

The deputy of the Maritime Alps collected 25.59% of the votes, and the president of Ile-de-France 25% in the first round of the ballot, against 23.93% for Michel Barnier, 22.36% for Xavier Bertrand and 3.13% to Philippe Juvin.

After a second round on Friday and Saturday, the name of the candidate will be announced on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

A few minutes after the announcement of the results, Xavier Bertrand called on his Twitter account to vote for Valérie Pécresse
