Democratic presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung said, "It is premature to talk about pardon without reflection and apology" when asked about the need for a pardon by the former president at a debate hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Journalists' Club.

It draws a line against the rumors of a pardon of former presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye before the election, which were raised by some in the political circles.

Candidate Lee also said that he once again apologized for the situation of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, saying, "It is one of the root causes of the problem that the Democratic Party is neglected and criticized by the people."

Candidate Lee will visit the Kim Dae-jung Library in Mapo-gu, Seoul in the afternoon to attend a meeting, and then meet with officials from the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea.

Previously, Candidate Lee announced the reorganization of the election committee into six headquarters and the results of the appointment of the general manager.

Democratic Party Secretary-General Kim Young-jin, a close aide to Lee Jae-myung, was officially appointed as the head of the general affairs division, Kang Hoon-shik as the head of the strategic planning division, Kim Byeong-wook and Yoon Hu-deok as the functional and policy heads, respectively, and Lee Won-wook as the head of the organization.

Former MBC Vice President Kim Young-hee, who produced many popular entertainment programs, took over as the head of the PR department.

Starting from the 6th, the Democratic Party's electoral committee is also seeking to diversify its recruitment routes, including publicly recommending talents with expertise through an online platform.
