The Sami Parliament holds a plenary session three times a year.

During the last plenary session each year, they decide where and when the plenary session will be held next year.

As in previous years, this is a point on which there are many opinions, as well as during this plenary session.

As usual, the board proposed three weeks.

But Sámiid Riikabellodat wanted the timing of the last plenary session to be changed.

It was Paulus Kuoljok, who was in the podium and said that the last plenary session should be brought forward next year because the Sami Parliament will submit an opinion to the Commission working on the new reindeer husbandry law.

Which was also highlighted as an amendment by Vuovdegas Martin Lundgren.

The plenary decided that the last plenary session of 2022 will be held in week 43 instead of week 46, as was proposed.

Finally, the decision was made that plenary 2022 will be held week 8 in Staare / Östersund, week 22 in Julevu / Luleå and week 43 in Ubmeje / Umeå.

Incidentally, the plenum decided that 2023-2024 will be held in the following areas;

Norrbotten, Västerbotten and Jämtland.

And that some of the plenary meetings can be held in Stockholm and the Riksdag.

The plenary also supported Eric-Oskar Oskarsson's (JoF) amendment that the plenary should be held in Ångermanland at some point during the term of office.

Sámiid Riikabellodat's Káren-Ann Hurri's amendment to add plenary to Jiellevárri (Gällivare), Åre and Vualtjere (Vilhelmina) in 2023 and to choose Rákkasorda (Björkliden) and Gothenburg for 2024 did not accept the plenary.
