02 December 2021 An ambush of two policewomen in Cherbourg, North West of France: armed with a sword and wearing the traditional dress of Ninja warriors, a man attacked and wounded the two officers not seriously.
The assailant was then stopped with a gunshot.
Seriously injured, he was taken to hospital by helicopter.
According to a police spokesperson, there are currently no signs of a terrorist attack.

The agents had intervened on the spot after a report of a car theft: the man had stolen the vehicle when in an attempt to escape he made an accident then the attack by brandishing a sword.
The identity and motive of the ambush is still unknown.
Solidarity in a tweet from the French interior minister, Gerald Darmanin, who wrote: "support for the national police".
The attack at 3.45 pm near a gas station in the town.
