Every 17 minutes, someone suffers a stroke in Sweden.

On August 5, 2021, Evert became one of them.

He was working in his garden in Stora Höga, 40 km north of Gothenburg when everything happened, very suddenly.

He also became one of those who received help very quickly, with a so-called thrombectomy.

Using various tools, the plug could be pulled out of the brain.

The development regarding treatment times for stroke is dramatic, not least at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg.

Just a few years ago, it took about four hours from the time the ambulance left the patient in the hospital until the plug was gone.

Now the average time is about an hour.

Follow us out into the garden in Stora Höga and hear Evert tell about the day he suffered a stroke.
