Vaccination against Covid-19 of
children between
the
ages of five and 11 will
begin in the Community of Madrid on December 15.
In addition, a free antigen test will be distributed to each citizen before Christmas so that "in the event of social gatherings, it can be done safely".
These are the measures included in the new plan against the coronavirus launched by the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso due to the growth in the number of infections and hospitalizations.
"What we are going to do is
not to generate confusion and act,"
said the regional president, who in any case has stressed that the situation "is not alarming."
The
test antigens
may be obtained from pharmacies as masks that were distributed during the first wave of the pandemic.
In addition, from the Community of Madrid they are again urging companies to test their workers for Covid before Christmas dinners or lunches.
Another
40 million euros will
also be invested
to extend the contracts of the health workers hired due to the pandemic so that they continue to work "at least until the winter is over."
Regarding vaccination, in addition to the start of immunization of children between five and 11 years from December 15, this week will begin the administration of the
third dose to people between 60 and 69 years
.
In this case, prior appointments may be requested from Thursday, December 2.
"The forecast at this time is not worrying, but if we continue to collaborate,
Madrid will not lose an iota of its freedom,"
Ayuso said.
"As always, we have treated people as adults, turning public places into our best allies to fight the virus and avoid greater evils, ruin or more depressions," he remarked.
