He noted that Ukraine and Georgia are close partners of the alliance.

“We have already strengthened their ability to defend themselves by jointly conducting exercises, providing naval support and sharing information,” Stoltenberg said.

The Secretary General recalled the importance of reforms in Georgia and Ukraine in order to "strengthen the rule of law and democracy", as well as fight corruption. 

On October 5, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed the opinion that the entry of Georgia and Ukraine into NATO "will not happen tomorrow."
