He added that the operational headquarters is currently developing a list of measures to combat the spread of the new strain.
“The government headquarters is working effectively, successfully and, accordingly, a list of measures to counter the new strain is being drawn up there,” said Peskov.
Earlier, Russia decided to limit the duration of the PCR test for COVID-19 to 48 hours.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, at a meeting of the presidium of the coordination council under the Russian government on combating COVID-19, said that the omicron coronavirus strain in Russia has not yet been identified.
