“We developed cooperation, working in the government, now you work as president, but you continue to contribute to the development of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation, strategic partnership,” Medvedev quotes TASS.

He noted that since his last meeting with Nguyen Xuan Phuc "a lot has changed, the world has changed since then."

“I cannot but note that last year was significant for Russian-Vietnamese cooperation, 70 years since diplomatic relations between the Soviet Union and Vietnam.

And this year marks 20 years since the signing of the declaration on strategic partnership between our countries, ”said the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc, in turn, said that "relations between the countries have been going on for many decades, they have been developing dynamically over the past 20 years, and especially over the past 10 years, after [they] were raised to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership."

Earlier it was reported that following the talks between the presidents of Russia and Vietnam, Vladimir Putin and Nguyen Xuan Phuc, an agreement was reached between the countries to create conditions for the mutual supply of vaccines and other medicines.
