01 December 2021 In November, the seasonally adjusted PMI (Purchasing Managers Index) IHS Markit of the Italian manufacturing sector, which with a single figure provides an overview of developments in general conditions in the manufacturing sector, signaled the seventeenth consecutive month of improvement in health in the sector, increasing from 61.1 in October to reach a

record value of 62.8

in November

.

The stronger expansion of production and new orders contributed to the rise in the main index, which is being achieved by probing the moods of purchasing managers of manufacturing companies.

The Eurozone Index stable at 58.4

The Eurozone manufacturing PMI index rose to 58.4 in November (slightly below the flash estimate of 58.6) from 58.3 in October (up from 53.8 a year ago). In fact, it has stabilized: this is the first increase in the main index since June but apart from the positive turnaround, the latest data has signaled the second slowest expansion since February.

In

Germany,

the Index fell in November to 57.4 (below the flash estimate of 57.6) from 57.8 in October (57.8 a year ago): this is the lowest figure since last January. In

France,

the IHS Markit PMI manufacturing increased to 55.9 (above the flash estimate of 54.6) from 53.6 in October (49.6 a year ago).

If you look at the Eurozone figure overall, there has been an increase in the inventory of purchases, with a creation by companies of safety stocks and a new record value for inflation of selling prices.

Once again, the average delivery times of suppliers worsen, explains IHS Markit in a commentary note.
