"A contract was signed between the French shipbuilding company Océa and the Ukrainian company Nibulon on the construction of five vessels for the needs of the State Border Service of Ukraine," the statement says.

It is noted that the production will take place in Nikolaev.

In total, Ukrainian border guards will receive 20 such ships, 15 of which will be built in France.

The launch of the first ship is scheduled for December 9th.

And all five ships will be launched from the Nikolaev plant by the end of 2023.

“Based on the results of the agreement, we will be able not only to create a powerful fleet for the State Tax Service, but also to raise the potential of our companies to the European level,” emphasized the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Goncharov.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that in the upcoming negotiations France will not avoid discussing the situation in Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova previously said at a briefing that Paris and Berlin, instead of militarizing the Black Sea region, should urge Kiev to comply with the Minsk agreements.
