On Tuesday, the Swedish Transport Administration presented its proposal for a national infrastructure plan.

One of the projects will enable passenger traffic by train on the Markaryd line between Halmstad and Markaryd.

The issue has been discussed for a long time but now seems to be coming to a head.

In the clip, you can see when the Swedish Transport Administration intends to start the construction of meeting tracks in Knäred and new stations.

More projects concern Halland

The Swedish Transport Administration will also increase the speed on the West Coast Line between Malmö and Gothenburg.

After 2030, the hope is that the trains will be able to run at 250 kilometers per hour instead of the current 200 kilometers per hour.

However, the Swedish Transport Administration's infrastructure plan remains for the government's approval before work begins.
