The normal proof requirement for obtaining a work permit is that a person can prove their identity, something that usually happens via a valid home country passport.

Tahira herself has stated in her information to the Swedish Migration Board that her date of birth is not correct.

A change that came about so that her husband 23 years ago could marry her when she was 14 years old.

That is also the reason why Tahira has been denied a residence permit.

Does anyone take into account that it is a male relative who has changed the information in order to be able to marry her?

- This is information that came in late in the investigation.

The information reached us in 2020 and then she herself is an adult had and been able to point this out.

Although she has gone through several migration processes, she has not reported it before, says Pierre Karatzian, press communicator at the Swedish Migration Board.

A valid passport document does not automatically grant a work permit

According to the Swedish Migration Agency, Tahira needs to be able to prove her identity via a valid passport document.

But just because Tahira Massod has a valid passport does not guarantee an automatic work permit.

At present, the Swedish Migration Agency has Tahira Massod's passport document in custody.

It is a common procedure for people seeking asylum in Sweden.

But in order for her to be able to change her passport document, she needs, according to the Swedish Migration Board, to contact her home country Pakistan to correct the problems.

- You can usually be helpful, but a little against the background of how she has acted before by being deviant, I think you will be restrictive in the case, but it can certainly be solved in some way, says Pierre Karatzian.

The lawyer: "Not realistic to correct"

Tahira Masod's lawyer, Karin Müchler, believes that it is not possible for Tahira to correct all the information as they have been in her home country's system for too long.

- It's not realistic.

The problem is that when she was 14 years old, her husband changed the information and from that date she has been registered as the older date.

I wonder if there is even an official date when she was born, because if there was one, the husband probably would not have been able to change the information from the beginning, she says.

In the clip, SVT's reporter asks the question of whether an abuse that occurred 23 years ago should still be allowed to affect a person.
