Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen met with parliamentarians from the three Baltic countries visiting Taipei and called for the expansion of authoritarianism and the strengthening of cooperation against the threat of fake information, with China and Russia in mind.

Parliamentarians from the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have been visiting Taiwan since the 28th, and a meeting with President Cai was held at the Presidential Office Building in Taipei on the 29th.

President Cai keeps in mind that Taiwan and the three Baltic countries feel threats from China and Russia, respectively. "Currently, the world is facing the expansion of authoritarianism and the threat of disinformation. Taiwan is disinformation. I would like to share my experience of countering the situation with my European friends and ensure that they live a democratic and free life. "

In response, Lithuanian Rep. Maldeikis said, "Taiwan is developing a balanced economy and democracy in a complex geopolitical environment. Our visit is to show our unity with Taiwan. I responded.

In Europe, the movement to strengthen relations with Taiwan continues, and in particular, the "Taiwan Representative Office" was opened this month in Lithuania.

It is extremely unusual for a country that has no diplomatic relations with Taiwan to have a local agency named "Taiwan", and China has strongly opposed this and has downgraded its diplomatic relations with Lithuania.

At the meeting on the 29th, President Cai praised the close relationship with Lithuania and expressed his hope that he would like to cooperate and interact with Estonia and Latvia in various fields.
