Private schools require “PCR” for students’ families to attend the fiftieth anniversary celebrations

Private schools in the northern emirates required the families of students wishing to attend the celebration on the occasion of the fiftieth Union Day, to conduct a “PCR” examination 72 hours before the date of the celebration, while other schools sent text messages to the students’ families, stating that they would not be allowed to attend the celebration, according to the precautionary measures. Officials in private schools, Marwan Al-Khalil, Talal Kilani, and Sami Al-Zabada, said that the school administrations decided to allow the students’ families to attend the celebration on the occasion of the fiftieth Union Day, provided that precautionary measures are applied, including conducting a PCR examination 72 hours before the date of the celebration, wearing a muzzle, and maintaining Physical distancing.

They added that the aim of allowing the students' families to attend the celebration, is for their young children from kindergarten to sixth grade to participate in the celebration, especially since most students participate in the celebration, and inform them of the importance of wearing clothes on the colors of the state flag, in addition to bringing UAE flags with them to the school to participate in the celebration .

They pointed out that special places were identified to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the union of students' families, so that there is a sufficient distance between the seats of not less than two meters, and the places for students' entry and exit with their families were distributed after the completion of the celebration, where a team of school celebration organizers will organize seating Students’ families and accompanying them to their seats, to reduce any crowding or mixing among them, in order to preserve public health and safety.

On the other hand, officials in the private schools, Fathi Al-Shahed, Khamis Al-Saeed, and Reda Al-Amin, said that not allowing the students’ families to attend the celebration came to avoid the attendance of large numbers of them, especially since the schools do not have enough space to receive large numbers of students’ families on the day of the celebration. Schools also want to preserve the safety of students and educational staff from infection with the Corona virus, in addition to seeking to implement precautionary measures, and not tolerate them, to ensure that students attend classes, and that none of them turn to distance education, for any satisfactory reasons to maintain their educational level.

They added that the celebration was restricted to students and educational cadres, where national events were organized, popular foods were brought, and all students participated in the event in an organized manner that ensures physical distancing between them, and limits mixing in the internal arena of schools.

They stated that the students' families understood the precautionary measures imposed by schools during the celebration of the 50th Union Day.

They added that each student was photographed during his participation in the celebration and sent his pictures to his families, and students were allowed to leave the school at 11:30 in the afternoon, two hours before the end of school hours, to reduce overcrowding in front of the school doors.
