His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that the appointment of November 30 as a martyr's day every year has very important connotations. The era of the people of the Emirates, which extends into the depths of history with their homeland, and revives the memory of the National Assembly with the progress of our ancestors as they established and preserved life on this land, and redeemed it dearly and preciously.

In a speech he addressed to the National Shield magazine on the occasion of Martyr’s Day, His Highness said: “We celebrate Martyr’s Day. We also celebrate our valiant armed forces, realizing that this day extends in its ranks throughout life. The spirit of martyrdom runs in the doctrine of its officers and soldiers. They imbibed this spirit in its schools, institutes, curricula, and camps, and they were loyal to the oath of its employees, who were always ready to answer the call and perform their duty, and who wanted one of the good things of victory or martyrdom.”

His Highness added: "The merits of our martyrs over our homeland will remain as long as life remains. Their pure blood bloomed in the folds of our Emirati identity, increased it with splendor and brilliance, deepened its consolidation in the hearts of generations, and reinforced its contents with the highest principles and values."

His Highness said: "On this day every year, the wisdom of my brother, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, is manifested in appointing the 30th of November to commemorate our martyrs... On this day fifty years ago, on the eve of the establishment of our state, Salem Khamis was martyred. Sohail, in defense of our homeland, and the appointment of November 30 as a martyr’s day had very important connotations, as it confirms the unity of the Emiratis, present, past and future, and adds to the bridges of communication between generations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum noted: “The martyrs from our sons, our brothers and our ancestors encrusted the narrative of our history with medals of honor and laurel wreaths.. and they say with their blood that they are the sons of a people of determination and strength, and that they are of an authentic mineral that does not change during hardship days, ease days, times of scarcity, or times of abundance. And if their return is solid, the prosperity of life increases it and the quality of life is solid, and the merits of our martyrs over our homeland will remain as long as life remains.

His Highness said: "I invite you, especially our young men and women, to explore the depths of this blessed day... and to represent the martyrs in courage, giving and devotion to the performance of duty. Their children have the meaning of Martyr’s Day, and to tell them about the men who sacrificed the greatest sacrifice for our homeland and our people, and about their patient families, and about their leadership in giving, sincerity, loyalty and belonging, and that they are role models for everyone who sought glory, glory, and sought success, on the study benches and in the workplace. In all aspects of life.

His Highness added: “I call on fathers and mothers to also tell their children about the honor of serving in the army, and about the men and women of our armed forces who watch over the security and stability of our homeland, and preserve its independence, sovereignty and achievements. The personalities of our youth, eagerly awaiting the date of their joining it, like those who preceded them and received the honor of graduating from it.”

His Highness said: "I invite every citizen who knows or knows a martyr's family to visit and console them. This day falls on the families of the martyrs, and the feelings of separation and loss move on it... Embracing these feelings lies in our belief in God's decree and destiny, and our certainty that the martyrs will obtain an unparalleled dignity from their Lord. Honor from anyone, for they are among all of God’s creation whom God Almighty has prohibited His servants from calling them “dead” in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: The resurrection of seventy of their relatives in compensation for separation and loss.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed: “The martyrs’ families showed courage, patience, awareness, and composure, which demonstrated the strength of their faith, the depth of their national affiliation, and their ability to raise their children. They became a source of inspiration that motivates them to dedicate to the service of our country and our people, and if words do not It is sufficient for the martyrs and their families to fulfill their right, as the actions do not stop to fulfill this right, whether at the witness of Wahat Al Karama and the Martyr’s Monument, or by the initiatives of Their Highnesses, members of the Supreme Council and rulers of the Emirates, including immortalizing their names by launching them on squares, streets and schools, or by the care given to them by the Martyr’s Office with personal follow-up from the His Highness, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, or the many societal initiatives...and all of this was an additional confirmation of the firm bond between our people and its leadership, and the strength of the unity of the great Emirati house and the solidarity and interdependence of its sons and components.”

His Highness said: "I greet with you the officers and soldiers of our armed forces and security services and their colleagues who preceded them in military service. I renew my pride in their commitment, competence, qualities and courage, and their willingness to train, educate and develop capabilities, which elevated our forces to the level of the most prestigious armies in the world."

His Highness continued: "The salute is obligatory and coupled with appreciation and gratitude to the builders of our armed forces, to our father, our teacher and the symbol of our state, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and to the Supreme Leader, my brother, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who sponsored the planning and implementation for over forty years the process of modernizing and developing our armed forces.
