Turkish media quoted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying that his country will take steps to improve relations with Egypt and Israel, as it has taken in the past few weeks with the UAE.

Ankara and Abu Dhabi signed investment deals worth billions of dollars last week, which Erdogan said marked the beginning of a "new era".

Turkey has also moved to improve relations with Egypt and Saudi Arabia, but the talks yielded little public results.

Earlier this month, Erdogan made a rare phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, after Turkey released an Israeli couple arrested on spying charges.

Erdogan told reporters on a plane upon his return from Turkmenistan that he will have a visit to the UAE next February at the head of a large delegation, and he will take some steps vigorously. There are positive developments."

In response to a question about relations with Cairo and Tel Aviv, he said, "Any steps taken with the UAE, we will take the same with others (Egypt and Israel)."
