Global Health: Gulf countries are free of “Omicron”

The Director of the World Health Organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, Dr. Fahd Al-Joufi, announced that there is no new mutant Corona virus "Omicron", in the Kingdom or in any Gulf country until now.

Al-Joufi said in a statement to the Saudi newspaper, "Al-Bilad", that "the precautionary measures that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to take have stood as an impenetrable dam in front of the entry of this dangerous mutator, as well as the awareness of the citizen and resident on the territory of the Kingdom of the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures."

He pointed out, "The danger of the new mutant compared to other strains on people with chronic diseases, and that the third booster dose of vaccines limits infection with this mutant," stressing that work is currently underway to find a new vaccine for the mutant "Omicron."
