"Since November 28, Finland has been restricting the entry of travelers who have been in Botswana, Eswatini, South Africa, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia or Zimbabwe in the last 14 days," the report said.

As specified, this decision means that a traveler who was in these countries cannot get to Finland by presenting a vaccination certificate.

The restrictions will be valid until December 19, they do not apply to Finnish citizens and persons permanently residing in this country.

Earlier, the UK authorities tightened the rules for entering the United Kingdom in connection with the spread of a new strain of coronavirus infection "omicron".
