The grave also contained sacrificial offerings such as ceramics, vegetable remains and stone tools.
The mummy was found on the outskirts of the capital Lima.
According to a press release from the university that conducts the excavations, the burial method is typical of the high Andes, which could prove that this settlement near the coast had close contact with settlements in the mountains at this time.
