The aging population of Beijing accelerates

  The "Planning" pointed out that the base of the elderly population in Beijing is large. At the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the number of permanent residents over 60 years old in Beijing was 4.299 million, an increase of 637,000 from the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period. The population will reach 5.17 million, an increase of 870,000 from the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.

  The aging of the population has rapidly developed into the new normal. It is expected that by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the aging level of Beijing’s population will reach 24%, from a mild aging to a moderate aging.

By 2035, Beijing’s elderly population will be close to 7 million, and the aging level of the population will exceed 30%, entering a severely aging population.

  The proportion of elderly people in Beijing has decreased slightly, and the proportion of elderly people aged 80 years and above has shown a slight downward trend.

However, after the "14th Five-Year Plan", as the population born at the first baby boom begins to reach advanced age, by 2035, the elderly population will exceed 1 million, the social dependency ratio will continue to increase, and the aging trend will accelerate.

Healthy elderly care has become the most urgent and prominent demand

  The "Planning" pointed out that the average life expectancy of the registered population in Beijing has exceeded 82 years, and health and longevity have become the greatest wish of the elderly.

With the further acceleration of the population aging process, the number of disabled and semi-disabled senior citizens has increased significantly. The health and care problems of the elderly will become the most prominent problems in the process of population aging. The demand for medical and health services and the demand for life care are superimposed. The trend will become more and more significant.

  The "Plan" pointed out that Beijing will improve the social pension insurance system, establish a sound multi-level medical insurance system, guarantee the basic old-age care for the elderly, promote various medical guarantees, and link each other to further reduce the burden of personal medical expenses.

Encourage commercial insurance companies to develop commercial health and pension insurance products, and vigorously expand insurance products and services such as major diseases and hospitalization.

Optimize the protocol management process of designated medical institutions.

Explore the inclusion of basic therapeutic rehabilitation projects into the scope of basic medical insurance payment.

At the same time, improve the social welfare, social assistance, social preferential treatment, and social charity systems for the elderly, and continue to do a good job of preferential treatment for the elderly.

Establish a multi-level long-term care security system
