RCA: indicted for crimes against humanity, Minister Hassan Bouba released from prison

Minister Hassan Bouba, a former senior executive of the UPC armed group, indicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity and arrested last week by the Special Criminal Court, was released from detention early Friday afternoon.

The information was confirmed this Friday evening via a press release from the CPS, a hybrid court made up of national and international judges, responsible for judging the most serious human rights violations committed in the Central African Republic since 2003.

The Minister of Livestock and former number 2 of the armed group UPC returned to his home this Friday under escort of the national gendarmerie and despite the arrest warrant issued for him by the Special Criminal Court.

Earlier in the day, the unit responsible for extracting him from the remand center to present him to the examining magistrates had been prevented from accessing the site.

Just a week ago,

Hassan Bouba was arrested in his

ministry

office

and then charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Charges liable to life imprisonment.

 strongly condemns

 " the facts and deplores this obstacle " 

to the proper functioning of justice 

".

The Central African authorities requested, for the moment did not wish to speak.
