"The strain, found in a number of countries in southern Africa, was identified in Israel," the press service of the Israeli Ministry of Health is quoted as saying by TASS.

The department added that two more returning from abroad are currently in isolation awaiting tests.

Earlier it became known that the UK has temporarily canceled flights with South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Namibia and Eswatini from November 26 due to the discovery of a new strain of coronavirus B.1.1.529.
