The prosecution referred them to the Criminal Court, which convicted them, and imposed a fine of 10,000 dirhams on the first accused, and 5,000 dirhams against the broadcaster.

The announcer was not satisfied with the verdict, so she appealed against it before the Court of Appeal, which concluded her innocence of the charge against her.

The details of the incident date back to last August, when a report was received of a mutual assault in an apartment in a building located in the middle of the Palm Island in Dubai. To her workplace at the satellite station, to broadcast the news bulletin.

After the end of her work, she came and submitted a medical examination form, issued by Rashid Hospital, stating that there were injuries to her, and reported that she had known the accused nine months ago, and the relationship between them developed from friendship to a romantic relationship, until she submitted to her engagement, explaining that on the day of the incident, and during They discussed the future of their relationship, a dispute occurred between them, which escalated into his insulting and slapping her in the face, which led to her hitting the dining table, which resulted in her injury.

He also pleaded maliciously the accusation leveled against his client, based on the defendant's confession that he pushed her, and she fell on the table and smashed it, in addition to that she was the one who informed the police, and the accused threatened her to publish her pictures if she went ahead with her complaint, and as soon as the accusation was brought against him, he began to fabricate this story, including His phone is broken.

For its part, the Court of Appeal accepted the appeal, and ruled acquittal of the accused, based on its convictions of the maliciousness of the accusation, especially that the accused did not hand over his phone for examination, but brought a repair bill that did not prove anything, which led the court to doubt the truthfulness of his statements.
