Yesterday, Thursday, the Qatari Emiri Air Force tested the first Qatari Typhoon aircraft, which flew over Britain, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah.
This aircraft is one of 24 aircraft of this type, which are manufactured by the BAE Systems group in Britain, as part of a deal estimated at more than 6 billion dollars signed by Doha with London in 2017.
This test comes as part of a visit to Britain by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khalid bin Muhammad al-Attiyah, with the aim of strengthening defense and security cooperation between the two countries.
The Qatari Typhoon project officer, Colonel Juma Al Muraikhi, said that the project aims to enhance the capabilities of the Qatari Emiri Air Force, especially as it includes training Qatari pilots within a joint squadron with the British Air Force.

Britain and Qatar on Wednesday inaugurated the 11th squadron of joint training between the British Air Force and the Qatari Emiri Air Force at Liming Base of the British Air Force.
Qatar's Minister of State for Defense Affairs said during the inauguration that the squadron would enhance the strategic partnership linking his country with Britain, and would lead to closer cooperation and rapprochement in regional peacekeeping efforts in the region.
As for British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, he considered the inauguration process an important moment for the long-term strategic partnership that binds the two countries.
