November 25, 2021 Israel's Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz said a fourth dose could be expected to tackle the fifth wave of coronavirus infections, writes i24 news. "It is not unreasonable to think that we will need a fourth vaccine", he said after disclosing that 9% of cases diagnosed yesterday had received the booster. According to the minister, Israel has not yet entered the "fifth wave" despite the growing number of infections.

Yesterday, the committee of experts advising the Israeli government did not rule out that the Jewish state is on the eve of a fifth Covid wave.

This is because the infections are rising, albeit slowly, as reported by the Israeli media, as the effectiveness of the vaccine tends to decline over time and even the recent decision to vaccinate children aged 5 to 11 seems not enough.

Experts therefore recommend not abandoning containment measures such as masks.
