Raissi won 104 votes out of a total of 151 votes, 61% of the total number of countries that voted in the elections, compared to 47 votes obtained by his opponent from the Czech Republic.

Al-Raisi, who previously served as the delegate of the Executive Committee in Asia, was elected for a four-year term as the President of the organization, and the General Assembly elected seven members of the Executive Committee.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Al Raisi stressed in his speech after the vote that this victory is a culmination of the UAE's good reputation with the vision of its leadership, the outcome of its dedicated work, and its continuous global efforts to enhance international action and humanitarian response in crisis situations, and to ensure international peace and security, and to consolidate the language of dialogue among the peoples of the world.
