The Rouen (Seine-Maritime) children's court has been trying since Wednesday a 17-year-old teenager for "aggravated murder".

He is accused of being involved in the death of a 46-year-old man whose body was found in the garden of the Town Hall in September 2019. The respondent was 15 years old at the time.

The corpse was naked and disfigured when it was discovered.

Murder and assaults

The trial takes place behind closed doors and the minor risks a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, specifies France Bleu Normandie.

This is the first in a series of four concerning individuals tried for a wave of violence in downtown Rouen on the day of the murder.

In addition to the victim found dead in the park, a couple and a man were assaulted.

Another accused 17 years old at the time of the facts will subsequently appear before the juvenile assize court.

He and the defendant accuse each other of being at the origin of the death of the forty-something.

Two adults will be tried by correctional courts.
