The journalists arrived in Qatar on November 14 and had booked an interview with a regime critic the next day, reports NRK.
But just hours before the meeting, the critic of the regime was arrested, which has also been confirmed by the human rights organization Amnesty International.
No prosecution
The two are now said to be on their way home to Norway.
