China News Agency, Paris, November 24 (Reporter Li Yang) French President Macron met with Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki in Paris on the 24th local time to discuss issues such as the refugee crisis at the EU border.

Morawiecki said after the meeting that day that he gave Macron a comprehensive introduction to the current status of the EU border refugee crisis, and proposed that the EU adopt a unified response to this issue.

He revealed that Poland plans to submit a related action plan to the European Union, which is recommended for the EU's rotating presidency, Slovenia, to announce its implementation.

Morawiecki said Macron agrees with Poland's views in many respects.

He thanked France and other EU countries for their support to Poland on the issue of the refugee crisis at the EU border.

The French Presidential Palace disclosed that Macron told Moravitsky that the support of UNHCR and the International Organization for Migration is urgently needed; the humanitarian needs of refugees in border areas should be met.

Polish officials said earlier that refugees have not stopped trying to cross the border and the worst stage of the refugee crisis has not yet ended.

According to previous statistics from Poland, thousands of refugees are stranded on the side of the Belarusian border. Due to the cold winter, stranded refugees lack food, drinking water, winter supplies and other daily necessities, and they are in a very difficult situation.

Poland accused Belarus of planning this crisis in retaliation for the EU's previous sanctions against Belarus.

Belarus stated that sanctions have prevented Belarus from controlling the inflow of immigrants.

In addition, Macron and Morawiecki also discussed "the state of the rule of law in Poland."

The question of whether EU law has priority over Polish domestic law in Poland has recently been controversial.

Macron reiterated his concerns about related issues and called on the Polish government to find a "solution to safeguard the basic values of the European Union."

The Polish Constitutional Court stated that Polish domestic laws have priority over EU laws.

At the end of last month, the European Court of Justice ruled that Poland should pay a daily fine of 1 million euros to the European Commission until Poland implements the European Court of Justice’s July ruling.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Morawiecki will hold talks with German Chancellor Merkel on the 25th and with British Prime Minister Johnson on the 26th to continue discussions on issues such as the refugee crisis.
