The fences have been installed for a few days and part of the parking lot is inaccessible to customers. Announced almost two years ago, the extension project for the Beaulieu shopping center on the Ile de Nantes has just started. The objective is to add, to the east of the gallery (towards the CPAM and the Post Office), a new square, a footbridge, additional parking and, above all, new commercial premises intended for Primark, the famous loaner brand. -to-wear and accessories. Renowned for its inexpensive items, the Irish brand is due to open its doors at the end of 2023. It already has twenty stores in France but none in the West.

The work on the shopping center will therefore take two years.

The first phase, which is beginning, will be devoted to the creation of a pedestrian square and the construction of an access footbridge, the commissioning of which is scheduled for next summer.

The extension of the shopping center will be carried out in a second phase, on an area of 4,300 m2.

A huge area for Primark

The Primark store, which will also have a unit of 2,300 m2 left vacant, will ultimately have a huge sales area of just over 4,000 m2, announces Christopher Jacques, director of Beaulieu, who is delighted with a "new dynamic which will strengthen the bond with our customers and bodes well for the center ”.

Inaugurated in 1975, the Beaulieu shopping center now houses 110 stores and welcomes more than five million annual visitors.
