On November 23, local time, former South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan died at his home in Yeonxi-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, at the age of 90.

Chun Doo Hwan was born in 1931 and served as the 11th and 12th president from 1980 to 1988.

In 1996, he was prosecuted on suspicion of military rebellion, and was sentenced to death in the first instance, and later commuted to life imprisonment.

In December 1997, Chun Doo-hwan received an amnesty from President-elect Kim Dae-jung and was released in early 1998.

Quan Doo-hwan was diagnosed with multiple myeloma before his death. On August 9, 2021, Quan Doo-hwan appeared in the Gwangju District Court for trial. The trial lasted only 25 minutes and left the court due to health problems.
